corners of my home

we have a teeny tiny house.  it's our first one, and probably our last for a while.  i tend to buy things that don't fit anywhere, so then i have to move things around so we can fit more stuff in places where there is no more room.  so i like to document my different moves.  recently i redid this corner of our dining/living room.  

hmm, don't mind the fingerprint smudge, how do i do that??

new fall feeling

seems like i was just getting in the mood for summer, and now it's time for fall.  the past couple of days have been nice and cool prompting me to get out my knee high socks and fall skirts.

i also had found a great used pair of Doc Martins at Sal's Army yesterday

they are perfectly worn.  I haven't had Doc for about 10 years, I forgot how heavy they are.  I clomped around the house all day and my legs actually got tired!  Yikes, but good exercise.

I also got a sweet package of sock from sock dreams  

 

The girls came home from school raving about the first day and how wonderful their teachers are.  Whew, what a relief.  I also had my first introduction to "boy crazy" 5th grade girls.  I guess there's a new boy, and he's "goth" according to Lily.  How goth can you be in 5th grade??  So she thinks he's the bee's knees.  I'll have to do some snooping around and see who this young boy is and then try not to humiliate her.

first day back to school

as a tradition, we take the girl's pictures on the first day of school out in front of the cherry tree.  we get to see how they have grown, and the tree too.  

so here is lily this year

this was last year. oh my, i hadn't really realized how much older she now looks.

 

and then there is chloe, i tried to talk her out of the hanna montana shirt.

and last year.  she had me curl her hair this morning.  i used to have to fight her just to brush it.

this was when they started saying "geez, can we just go now!"
